How to become a SmartLoad Sub-dealer

In my previous post, I have answered the basic questions on how to become a Smartload retailer.

If you are a new visitor interested to join the Smart Communications, Inc.'s network of independent business person, you may want to check that out first to have a basic understanding of the business.

This post deals on a more advanced aspect of the SmartLoad business: How to Become a Sub-dealer.

First, you need to know about the Smartload hierarchy. The system has the following levels:

• Smart Communications, Inc.
• Distributor
• Dealer
• Sub-Dealer (also termed U2)
• Retailer

Smart Communications, Inc. is the Telco (Telephone Company). They own and operate the whole system. The rest merely part of the marketing and sales system.

The Distributor buys from Smart cellphone credits in bulk. They also buy Dealer, Sub-dealer and Retailer sims in large quantities. This is usually large corporations or companies with established businesses and organization. Smart has its own Distributor for an affiliate, the Telecommunication Specialist, Inc. (TSI) but there are many more out there. Capitalization requirement is huge.

Dealers buy cellphone credits in wholesale from distributors. Commission rate is standard at 1% of gross sale.The main responsibility of the Dealer is to find sub-dealers and retailers. They are the one providing support and assistance to their own network of sub-dealers and retailer. Our company, Fast Forward Tech is a dealer and this blog is part of our service.

Sub-dealers or U2 are similar to managers. Their task is to operate on a certain area of their choosing and find would-be retailers in that particular area, develop and support them. They earn a commission of 2% of the gross sale of retailers on their network. Needless to say, the more retailers on their network, the higher their income.

Retailers are the front liners. They sell directly to subscribers in retail. Since they do most of the work, they earn a hefty 13% of their gross sale. Retailers could be small stores like "sari-sari", mini-grocery, bakery, eatery, cigarette vendor, water-refilling station, internet cafe, snack stand, etc., or big corporations owning chain of stores. Take a look around and you'll know what I mean. Even individuals can be a retailer. In fact, anybody can be a retailer. All that is required is the willingness and adherence to the policies set by Smart.


Right then. Now that you have an overview of the hierarchy of the system, let's focus on the more important matter: How can YOU become a Sub-dealer.


First and foremost is you have to know how a retailer system works. You can either be a retailer yourself or at least know how they do their work. In my previous post "Be a Smart Eload retailer now!!" I have discussed in detail how to get a retailer sim, how to activate it, how to get a Smart Money account and the actual card. I even offered a step-by-step instruction on how to sell to the customers. If you have no idea of the stuff I've just said, now is the time to read it first or review it.

Ok now you read it, and hopefully understood it.

Moving on.

I said before that everyone in the SmartLoad network is required to have a Smart Money account. What is it for, you say. Well, you will use it mainly for these reasons:

• To activate your sub-dealer sim
• To transfer funds to your retailers

Another use of Smart Money is for Smart Padala which I shall discuss later.


To become a Sub-dealer you have to have:

1. a Sub-dealer sim
2. an initial stock of Retailer sims (10 pieces is a good start)
3. a modest capital
4. patience and determination

We can help you with items 1 and 2. For items 3 and 4 however, you have to do it yourselves.

There are two ways:

HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN SUB-DEALER SIM

First, you must have your own retailer sim at hand. If you do not want to get it from us, you can get it somewhere else, you just have to know where to look.

Second, you cannot use a retailer sim that's already been activated and already linked to a sub-dealer. So be sure to check if what you're buying is a fresh (smartmoney is not activated) retailer sim.

HOW TO KNOW IF A RETAILER SIM IS FRESH

1. Insert the sim into a cell phone
2. Go to SMART MENU (click select)
3. Scroll down to SMART MONEY menu
4. A welcome message should appear asking you to elect a 6-digit pin.

If this message does not appear and instead a sub-menu shows like:

Buy Smartload
Balance
Reload Money
Reload Buddy
Transfer
Pay Bills
Rewards
....etc

...then the retailer sim is already activated. Chances are you cannot use it as a sub-dealer sim.





you must know that a Sub-dealer sim is activated in almost the same way as a retailer sim. The only thing that differs is the linking code.

Be a Smart E-Load Retailer Now!!

Here is a simple guide in the form of Question and Answer to address all concerns on becoming a legitimate Smart Eload Retailer and/or Sub-dealer:

Q: WHAT IS ELECTRONIC LOADING (ELoad)?
A: Electronic Loading or simply Eload is a new way of buying cellphone credits for prepaid cellphone subscribers. This new technology allows for Over the Air (OTA) transfer of
prepaid credits from seller(retailer) to buyer(subscriber).

Q: HOW IS CREDIT TRANSFERRED?
A: Credits or Load is transferred using a common cellphone and as easy as sending an ordinary text (SMS) message.

Q: CAN I USE AN ORDINARY SIM CARD TO SELL ELOAD?
A: No. To be able to sell prepaid credits or load, you must use a Retailer Sim Card. Much
like an ordinary sim card that can make a call or text message, a Retailer Sim Card's special feature is the Smartload Menu.

Q: WHAT DO I GET BY BECOMING A RETAILER?
A: You either:

1. Earn
2. Save
3. Both Earn and Save
   

Q: HOW?
A: 1. A retailer earns a commission from each sale by as much as 13% from an average gross sale of Php1,000.00 per day.

That is clearly Php130.00 in earnings in one day. Assuming he makes a constant sale everyday for the whole month(30 days), then he earns Php 3,900.00 for that month.

This is a very conservative assumption since in reality, a retailer with a "sari-sari" store or an ordinary bakery in the street corner can sell as much as Php 4,000 a day or Php 15,600.00 a month. Not bad. Not bad at all.

2. If you don't have a store or simply not the type who sells, you can still benefit from being a retailer in the form of savings. Instead of buying your cellphone credits from stores, friends or loading station you can buy it from yourself. You easily save the same 13% every time you buy from yourself!

3. You sell to others; you earn. You sell to yourself; you save. Simple.

Q: I WANT TO BECOME A RETAILER, HOW MUCH SHOULD I INVEST?
A: The beauty of this business is you can start small and eventually end up big. Basically, you need to invest in only 3 things:

a. cellphone - simple ones will do. Avoid the fancy, pricey models.
b. Retailer Sim Card - you can get it from me, email me at: louiemanalansan@yahoo.com, or from somewhere else. Your choice really.
c. Initial Capitalization - the more the merrier. However, we recommend at least Php 1,000.00.

All in all, your investment schedule should look something like this:

cell phone - Php 2,000.00
Retailer sim - 300.00
Initial Stock - 1,000.00

Total Php 3,300.00

Tip: You may use your existing cellphone in order to cut cost on your initial cash outlay.

Q: WHERE CAN I OPERATE MY SMARTLOAD BUSINESS?
A: Smart Communications has a wide signal coverage nationwide. Wherever there is a Smart cellphone signal, you can operate your Smartload business. You can even transfer load overseas.

Q: HOW DO I START?
A: 1. First off, have a dedicated cellphone ready. I said before, nothing fancy. An old, trusty Nokia 3210 (if it still works) would do.

Now that you have a cellphone and a retailer sim card, you think you are now a certified retailer? Well, not just yet. You and your retailer sim have to be registered first.

One thing you should understand, all members of the Smartload network is required to have their Smart Money account activated. Smart Money is a debit card owned by Smart and operated by Banco De Oro. Needless to say, you can't be a member of the SmartLoad network without one.


Q: HOW DO I GET MY SMART MONEY ACCOUNT?
A: Your new retailer sim has a Smart Money sub menu within the Main Smart Menu. Follow these steps to get your Smart Money Account.

1. Go to Smart Menu

2. Go to Smart Money Menu
-click Balance
(A welcome message should appear prompting you to input a 6-digit p.i.n. [personal identification number]. Elect your pin and input it. Be sure to remember it because it will serve as your access code to all Smart Money transaction).

3. You should receive a text message confirming you have selected a p.i.n. and that your menu have been updated. More importantly, this message should contain your Smart Money Account Number. It is a 16-digit number starting with 5577......

4. You should save a copy of this number on your phonebook or some place safe.


(Remember: If the welcome message does not appear and instead a sub-menu for Smart Money shows, your retailer sim's Smart Money is already activated.)


Now that you have your Smart Money account, it's time to link (register) your retailer sim to a Sub-dealer. This is an essential process because your retailer sim must be linked to the system to function properly and for you to receive additional benefits of a bonafide Smartload Retailer.

HOW TO LINK TO A SUB-DEALER

1. Using a cellfone with your retailer sim, go to:

-Messages (click "select")
-Write Message (click "select")
-type:

enroll sm 09205960280

(please note the space between enroll, sm, 09205960280)

2. Click "Send"

3. Enter: 343

4. Click "ok"


Assuming that your retailer sim is fresh, you should receive a message:

"You have been registered as a smartload retailer under Smart Money center #09205960280."
